Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) recognizes local bank’s marketing program.

TexasBank Wins Statewide Best of Community Banking Award

BROWNWOOD, TXThe Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT)—the largest state community banking association in the nation—recently honored TexasBank in Brownwood with a Best of Community Banking (BOCB) Award. It received the Community Spirit Gold Eagle Award for its “TexasBank Touchdown” marketing entry.

Launched in 2017, TexasBank Touchdown transforms Friday night lights into real support for local students. Each week during football season, the campaign partners with area schools to spotlight non-athletic student organizations—such as Band, FFA, Cheer, Theater, and Skills Auto Club. For every touchdown scored, TexasBank donates $25 to the featured group, with the gift announced live on air and at the stadium: “And that was another TexasBank Touchdown!”

More than $51,000 has been donated since the program’s launch, fueling school spirit while funding programs that make game nights unforgettable. Supported by in-house creative, radio spots, digital engagement, and in-branch promotions, the initiative strengthens ties between TexasBank and the communities it serves. As the bank expands into new markets, TexasBank Touchdown will continue to grow—reinforcing the brand’s promise: Proven. Local. Strong.

2025 marks the 34th year that IBAT has celebrated the outstanding accomplishments of Texas community banks with the BOCB Awards. Community banks, such as TexasBank, play a critical role in their local communities. The Best of Community Banking competition is designed to honor local banks for their commitment to helping their customers, neighbors, employees, and community. BOCB Awards recognize community banks throughout the state for their innovation, creativity, and success in fulfilling a specific community or internal need.

All BOCB gold, silver, and bronze submissions can be viewed at www.ibat.org. For more information about TexasBank’s submission and the program they highlight, contact AVP Marketing Director, Amy Gill, at (325) 649-9217.
