TexasBank is investing $18,000 in Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail’s inaugural 18 Under 18 program, a new initiative recognizing 18 Tarrant County students ages 13–18 who are already making a difference in their communities.

Created in partnership with the Fort Worth Report, 18 Under 18 will celebrate young people who are leading, serving, creating and finding new ways to make their communities better - from the classroom to the community, the field to the stage. TexasBank’s commitment will provide a scholarship to each student selected.

“TexasBank is growing in Tarrant County, and we believe the best way to grow is the same way we’ve always done business: by building relationships, showing up and investing in the communities we serve,” said Greg Dodds, President and CEO of TexasBank. “These students are already dreaming big, working hard and making a difference. We want them to know their community sees that potential and is willing to invest in where it can take them.”

Supporting education and creating opportunities for young people is deeply rooted in who TexasBank is. For generations, the bank has believed banking should be personal and that being a community bank means being part of the community, not simply doing business in it. Through scholarships, financial education and school partnerships, TexasBank continues to help communities build stronger futures.

As part of the partnership, Kelsey Goates, Vice President, Financial Literacy and Community Impact Manager, will serve on Junior Achievement’s Board of Directors. “Financial literacy is personal because every student has a different dream for what their future can look like,” Goates said. “Our job is to give them the knowledge, confidence and opportunities to take that next step.”

Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail gives young people the knowledge and skills to own their economic success, plan for their futures and make informed academic and financial decisions. “These young people aren’t letting their age get in the way - they are making a difference in the world right now,” said Cindy Hames, President of Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail. “TexasBank’s investment helps us recognize what these students have accomplished and encourages them to keep going.”

The 18 students selected will be featured in profiles in the Fort Worth Report and honored at an awards luncheon on March 31, 2027, at Texas Wesleyan University. Nominations must be submitted by August 30, 2026. To nominate a deserving young person, visit chisholmtrail.ja.org/events/18-under-18.
