“As a true community bank, we believe our responsibility goes beyond just financial services - we’re here to support the future of our hometowns.”
- Tim Espinoza, TexasBank President, Brown County Market
TexasBank is proud to announce a record-breaking $140,000 in scholarships awarded to 80 graduating high school seniors and college students across Texas, furthering its mission to help local students pursue their dreams through higher education.
In Brown County alone, $45,000 was awarded to high school graduates and local college students.
This year’s milestone continues a long-standing collaboration with the James and Dorothy Doss Foundation and pushes TexasBank’s total scholarship contributions to more than $2.1 million over the past 14 years.
“As a true community bank, we believe our responsibility goes beyond just financial services—we’re here to support the future of our hometowns,” said Tim Espinoza, Brown County Market President. “When we invest in local students, we’re investing in the families, neighborhoods, and values that make our communities strong.”
Neither TexasBank nor the Doss Foundation selects individual recipients. Instead, funds are granted directly to educational institutions, which then award scholarships based on academic achievement, community involvement, and future goals.
This year’s recipients include students from high schools across TexasBank’s service area, as well as those attending Howard Payne University ($25,000) and Texas State Technical College ($5,000).
Locally, scholarship recipients hailed from school districts in Brown and Mills Counties, including Bangs, Blanket, Brookesmith, Brownwood, Comanche, DeLeon, Early, Goldthwaite, May, and Zephyr.
TexasBank hosted a reception on May 14 to celebrate these deserving students and their families.
