TexasBank has established the first-ever program endowment supporting the University of Texas at Arlington’s College of Business and its new Certificate in Banking Program, creating a long-term investment in the development of the next generation of banking professionals.

The TexasBank endowment will provide ongoing support for the Certificate in Banking Program, helping strengthen educational opportunities for students pursuing careers in banking and financial services. The program is designed to give students practical, industry-relevant knowledge and prepare them for the evolving demands of the banking profession.

As the first program endowment established for the new certificate, TexasBank’s commitment represents a significant milestone for the UTA College of Business and underscores the bank’s investment in the future of the banking industry and the communities it serves.

“Our new banking programs will support both our students and our banking industry partners,” College of Business dean Dr. Brian Klaas said. “For students, the programs provide a clear pathway to a rewarding career in banking, with opportunities for mentoring from industry leaders, internships and capstone projects completed with banking partners. For our banking partners, the programs will help develop the talent they need.”

By bringing banking leaders into the educational experience, students gain a better understanding of the industry and the skills employers are seeking, while banking partners have an opportunity to help shape the next generation of talent.

“We are so grateful to TexasBank. Its engagement and funding showcase the strong support from industry for these programs,” Klaas said. “The TexasBank Endowment will also support initiatives that are critical to the programs’ success."

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to connecting higher education with the needs of the financial services industry. Through the endowment, TexasBank is helping create a sustainable foundation for the program while expanding opportunities for students to gain the skills, knowledge and perspective needed to succeed in banking careers.

“The future of community banking will be shaped by people who understand that banking is about more than numbers, it is about relationships, trust and helping communities grow,” said TexasBank president and CEO Greg Dodds. “Through this endowment, we are proud to invest in UTA students and give them greater access to the knowledge, experience and connections that can lead to meaningful careers in our industry.”

The Certificate in Banking Program builds on UTA’s commitment to providing students with career-focused education and meaningful connections to industry. Support from TexasBank will help ensure that students have access to an academic program informed by the real-world needs and opportunities of the banking profession.

The establishment of the endowment also demonstrates the value of collaboration between the business community and higher education in preparing a strong and talented workforce for Texas’ financial services industry.
