Wooley Retires from 50 Years of Banking

L.V. Coffee, President of TexasBank Stephenville, regretfully announces the retirement of Connie Wooley and announces a celebration of her exceptional career.

Connie started her banking career with Farmers First National Bank in April of 1969 where she began as an entry level check filer in the bookkeeping department.  During her tenure there, she also worked for the First National Bank of Fort Worth which was the lead bank for the FUBI holding company of which Farmers First National Bank was a member.  However, after a year, she returned to Stephenville where she would go on to serve Farmers and its successors in numerous positions in almost every department over the next 40 plus years.

During her employment, Farmers First National Bank experienced seven bank ownership changes, numerous technology advances and an everchanging regulatory environment.   Undeterred, Connie successfully led both employees and customers through all the changes with encouragement, dedication, loyalty, and a determination to the benefit of all involved.

Connie's enthusiasm is contagious and has a positive effect on everyone she meets.  She is devoted to her customers, leaving no stone unturned when solving a complicated customer service issue or helping customers plan for their future.  As a result of this type of devotion, Connie has earned a strong, loyal customer base and an incredible network of friends and business associates.   Those lucky enough to have Connie as their banker, leader, mentor, and friend, soon understand their lives are truly positively changed simply by knowing her.

In 2013 Connie joined the TexasBank family, serving as Senior Vice President of Operations for Stephenville and the surrounding locations.  Her leadership skills have been instrumental in growing the customer base and making TexasBank a leader in community involvement. “We are beyond blessed to have had Connie help lead TexasBank over the last six years.  Her professionalism has allowed us to experience significant growth and her enthusiasm has had an impact well beyond our Stephenville location.  I’m going to miss seeing her every day, but sincerely appreciate the culture she has created and know that her presence will be felt for years to come, “stated L.V. Coffee, President of TexasBank Stephenville.

In addition to her banking duties, Connie has served on the boards for the Erath County United Way and Kiwanis International, and as a member of the Tarleton State University Texan Club, the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce and the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council.  Connie coaches Tarleton State University students as they prepare for their career search by assisting in mock interviews.  Countless students have benefited from her expertise and council on preparing their resume and interview skills..

In 2017 Connie was named, The Patron of the Year by the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council, recognizing a member for their outstanding contribution to CTFAC and the arts.

“I was introduced to Connie Wooley over 25 years ago and have always been in awe of how she has maintained such a positive outlook and so much positive energy through so many challenging times in the banking industry,” stated Greg Dodds, President & CEO of TexasBank.  “Her attitude, work ethic and loyalty has served as an inspiration to so many of her coworkers, customers and friends.  We will certainly miss her daily presence at our Stephenville location but know that she and Big John will still be coming in and representing us in her retirement.  We will be forever thankful that she finally agreed to join our TexasBank team and for the tremendous impact that she has had on our growth in only six short years.”

TexasBank entered the Stephenville market in 1996 and moved to its current location on Wolfe Nursery Road in 199?.  Since that time, it has successfully established itself by remaining focused on reinvesting back into the communities that it serves and being the only locally serviced secondary market mortgage lender.  TexasBank is a full service community bank with eight locations serving Brown, Comanche, Erath and Eastland counties. Member FDIC.
